Dr. Shin is proud to be part of the Philadelphia Hand Center, P.C., which focuses exclusively on the care of the upper extremity, including the elbow, forearm, wrist, and hand.
His medical interests encompass all pathology in this area of the body and especially interested in reconstructive solutions for hand, wrist, and elbow problems, particularly as they relate to traumatic injuries.
Dr. Shin also presents nationally at hand surgery meetings on minimally invasive surgical procedures, including wrist/elbow arthroscopy techniques and endoscopic carpal tunnel surgery.
His research interests are varied and include the treatment of trigger finger, fracture injuries, and Dupuytren's disease. He was the senior author on a recent publication examining the associations between carpal tunnel syndrome and workers compensation patients.
With our medical knowledge growing rapidly, he enjoys challenging clinical conventions to see whether there is evidence to justify our current thinking and approaches. Dr. Shin has presented his research at national and international hand surgery meetings and has published more than 20 scientific abstracts and over 40 clinical manuscripts.
